North Shore Fencers Club

Congratulations to all our summer national competitors and thanks to our coaches. Although Hazel was the only NS fencer to make it to the podium we're seeing great improvement in our young fencers many of whom have attended their first major national event. The national competition was very strong this year and our students showed improvement and if we continue on the same upward path will see many success in future events. A special congrats to Lisa Dawes for her 'B " rating and Julia and Hazel for their 'E'. Everyone enjoyed their time together at the Funky Catalina Hotel, thanks to Alex Tsinis for finding it. We have many photo's of our time together and evening's out so please give Vladimir copies for out 2007 Summer Nationals Collage. Other note worthy results were Will Bedor formally of NSFC now from Boston College Div 1a Epee 13th and Junior 15th. Many of us watched Will in his junior semi final bout where he was leading 4 to 1 and had to withdraw with an injury well actually several leg injuries. Will was on a roll and seemed unstoppable until his leg cramped and later his ankle gave way. Alex Tsinis got 28th in Div I and 10th in Div 1a. WOW and 3rd in Div II foil. A special thanks to Vladimir who practically lived at the event center and for pulling together a good bunch of supporting coaches given the issues with INS and weather.
